Zula B. Smith

Zula B. Smith, 100, passed away Sunday Oct. 14, 2012 at her son’s home in Greenup. She was born in Owen County the daughter of the late Jesse and Betty Ann Duvall Lilly and was also preceded by her husband Fred K. Smith, a daughter, Annabell Wallace, four brothers and four sisters. She worked in the Health Services Dept. for the State of Kentucky and retired in 1975. She was a member of the Greenup Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include her two sons, Eugene (Dorothy) Smith and Freeman (Tilda) Smith, one brother, Charles Lilly all of Owen County. Seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 until 2pm at the Main Street location of McDonald and New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin at 2pm. Bro. Jesse Bourne will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Greenup Fork Baptist Church.
