Willowdean Massey Sharer

Willowdean Sharer, 99, was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus and her loved ones Friday morning October 16, 2026.

She was born in Reedyville, Ky in Butler County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edna Basham Massey; her sister, Lorene Massey Craigmyle; her husband, Woodford Carlyle Sharer; and her only niece Brenda.

Willowdean loved her family with everything in her. She had a servants heart and cared for others all her life. Everyone who met her loved her. She worked as a CNA in nursing homes for 17 years and all of the patients preferred her for their care. She loved working in her flowers and yard as long as she was able. Willowdean loved being at home cleaning her house and making chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. She was a dedicated Christian all of her life and is now reunited with Jesus her savior and her family that went before her.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Bruce) Cobb of Owenton, Karen (Lee) Goss of Lexington, and Bonnie Sharer of Owenton. She had five grandchildren, Aaron (Rachele) Cobb, Josh (Dana) Cobb, Caleb (Jodi) Cobb all of Owenton, Melissa Goss of Louisville, and Kevin Goss of Lexington. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Kennedi (Aaron) Hon, Guy Cobb, Josiah Cobb, Shayna Cobb, Sydney Cobb, Sam Cobb, Cara Lou Cobb; one great niece, Benita Schiess of Louisville; and two great great nephews, Richard Godbey and Charlie Schiess.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Main Street location of New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Bro. Forrest Hahn officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
