William V. "Spider" Garnett, 84 of Owenton passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Owenton Manor. Born July 14, 1930, he was the son of the late Lebus and Anna Durham Garnett. He was the husband of the late Mary Ola Miller Garnett. Spider was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a farmer, retired from Dow Corning, was the floor manager at Brite Lite 2 Tobacco Warehouse in Carrollton and worked as the assistant floor manager at Lexington Looseleaf Tobacco Warehouse for several years. Spider is survived by his six children, Teresa (Larry Dale) Perry of Owenton, Pam (Mike) Pavone of Owenton, Vickie (Johnny) Thomas of Owenton,Lannis (Gladys) Garnett , Mark (Stephanie) Garnett of Owenton, and Kim Garnett of Lexington; ten grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, and Shadoe Perry, Kelley Thomas, Summer Garnett, Jade, Emerald, Sage, Stone and Steel Garnett; eight great grandchildren, Abigail, Isabella, Alexis, Madison, Brianna, Alexandria, Gabrielle and Sophia. He is also survived by his four sisters, Jo Ann (Charlie) Darwin of Warsaw, Betty Sue French of Warsaw, Nancy Vannarsdall of Owenton and Rita Lewis of Warsaw and his sister-In-law, Marie Garnett. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry C. Garnett and his sister,Geraldine McDonald. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1pm at the McDonald and New Funeral Home on Main Street. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8pm. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Commonwealth K-9 Search and Recovery Dog Team or to the Owenton Center Activity Fund for Spider's Fish Fry.
