William "Bill" Carter Snell

May 23, 1924 — November 17, 2011

William “Bill” Carter Snell, 87, passed away Thursday Nov. 17, 2011 at his home. He was born in Grant County the son of the late Leonard and Sylvia Ayres Snell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Clifford Snell and a sister, Elsie Samford. Bill Carter was a retired farmer, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Jonesville Masonic Lodge. He was veteran of WW II having retired as a Captain in the Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Marie Ogden Snell, three daughters, Vickie (Mark) Bourne, Billie (Terry) Patterson, Lou “Poodle” (Doug) Taylor, one son, Rickie (Lana) Snell, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10AM at the Owenton Cemetery.
