William Thomas Gaines

William Thomas Gaines, age 85, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Gallatin Healthcare Center in Warsaw. Born April 1 1926, he was the son of the late Marion and Mae Estes Gaines. Also preceding him in death were his grandson, Travis Dale Hunter and his siblings, Betty Wilhoite and Carl Gaines. Mr. Gaines was retired from the former Owen County Rural Electric Cooperative and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Rosemary Hawkins Gaines; his two daughters, Darlene (Gary) Hunter and Gina (Mike) Walter; his son, Mitchell (Renaee) Gaines; five grandchildren, Tammy (Kevin) Smith, Chad (Jennfer) Walker, Callie Dawn Walker; Cheyenne Mae Gaines and Blake Thomas Gaines and two great grandchildren Kayla Darlene and Corby Smith. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Tuesday, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 2pm with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
