William "Bill" E. Young

William E. “Bill” Young, Sr., age 85, of Corinth, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Born March 28, 1926, in Ft. Thomas KY, he was the son of the late William and Hilda Young. Also preceding him in death by his siblings, Helen Kaelen, Jim, Edward, Arthur, John and Dorothy Brooks and Margie Lovins. Bill served his country as a decorated Navy combat veteran of WWII having fought in the South Pacific. He worked for 33 years as an engineer machinist with F & F Koenigkramer in Cincinnati and was a member of the Lusby’s Mill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Letha Duncan Young; three sons, William Young, Jr., and Jackie Young both of Owen County and Robert Young of Lexington; two daughters, Deborah Wood and Tina Woodyard of Owen County; one sister, Evelyn Cruz of Florida; fifteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 9-11am. Funeral services will follow at 11am, with Bro. Everett Hawkins presiding. Burial will be in the KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
