Willard B. Prather

Willard B. Prather, age 78, of Owenton, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born March 2, 1933, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Roy Prather, Sr. and Lula Gaines Prather and was preceded in death by his brothers, Gayle, Wilton and Kirt and his sister Ruby Wainscott. Mr. Prather was an Army veteran, a mechanic and a devoted member of the Hesler Assembly of God. Surviving are his wife whom he married in 1951, Betty Wainscott Prather; his daughter, Vickie Banks of Frankfort; his brother, Roy Prather, Jr. of Owenton and a host of extended family and friends. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday with Pastor, Joel Rivera presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hesler Assembly of God.
