Wendell Davis Tuggle

Wendell Davis Tuggle, age 76, a lifelong resident of New Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026.

Born on June 10th, 1950, in Lexington, KY, Wendell was the son of Fred Kelly and Lou Ella Davis Tuggle. Wendell spent his career as a mechanic with Bud Dunavent for many years before working at Toyota in Dry Ridge. He was also a dedicated farmer, raising tobacco and cattle for over fifty years recently retiring in 2021. His deep faith was evident as a member of New Liberty Christian Church. In his free time, Wendell loved camping, especially in Spring Mill, Indiana with his family. He was also a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, who lovingly called him papaw. He will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Gabbard Tuggle; his children, John (Heather) Tuggle and Jennifer (Glenn) Wright; his grandchildren, Gabi Stewart, Charlie Wright, and Sadie Tuggle. He is also survived by his twin brother, Wayne Kelly Tuggle.

Visitation will be held at the Main Street location on Monday, October 12th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be the following day, Tuesday, October 13th, at 1:00 pm, led by Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Poplar Grove Cemetery.
