Wayne Allan Smith

Wayne Allan Smith, age 67, of Owenton passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born February 12, 1947, in Covington, he was the son of the late William "Bill" Henry and Kathleen Poe Smith. Wayne was retired after over 35 years of service at The Smith House restaurant and enjoyed following the stock markets. He was also a member of the Owenton First Christian Church. Surviving are his sister, Billie Jo Ashcraft; nieces, Sandy (Dan) Logan and Laurel (Gayle Lee) Stivers; great nephews, Cameron Logan and Leedrew Stivers; great nieces, Shelby (Nicholas) Carter and Lavina Johnson; great-great nephews, Abe and Ben Johnson and Carson and Cooper Carter. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, April 2nd from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Owenton First Christian Church or the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church where Wayne enjoyed walking.
