Wayne Dunn

Herman "Wayne" Dunn, age 65, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Born Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Donald "Donnie" Lee and Willie "Rose" Taylor Dunn.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gene. Wayne was a man who loved deeply, gave kindly, and would help anyone any time he found a chance. Family was at the center of his life. Wayne was a lifelong farmer and the farm manager for Camargo Hunt Clubs.

He leaves behind his children, Diedre (Nathan) Morris, Lucas (Kim) Dunn, and Steven (Hope) Collins; twelve grandchildren, Ashley (Nolan) Queen, Kelsi (Chris) Bailey, Keegan Morris, Emily Morris, Kaleigh Dunn, Leyton Dunn, Ethan Dunn, Travis Dunn, Ethan Collins, Eden Collins, Asa Collins, and Lincoln Collins; three great-grandchildren, Jax, Everly, and Cooper; his siblings, Nancy, Glenna, Debbie, Trisha, and Charlie; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and family by choice including Jerry (Bessie) Vermillion.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  A time of gathering will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 2 - 6 pm at the Main Street location.  Masks are required for those not yet vaccinated and encouraged for everyone.
