Walter Keith

George Walter Keith, age 79, of Owenton passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born March 18, 1937, in the Harmony community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Elmer V. and Roxie Terry Keith and was preceded in death by his sons, Wallace Bradley, Phillip Edwin and Byron Douglas Keith. Walter was a retired logger and sawmill operator and a member of the Beechwood Assembly of God. He was a loving father and grandfather and a talented carpenter. He enjoyed building keepsakes for his family members. Surviving are his children, Doyle (Teresa) Keith, Steve (Kim) Hawkins, Vicki Hawkins Melford and Chris (Joni) Keith; his grandchildren, Nathaniel (Brittany) Keith, Carson and Chloe Keith, Ashley (Brent) Roberts, Brittany, Daniel and Lindsey Melford; his great grandchildren, Avary Lawson, Kinsley Keith and Audrey and Claxton Roberts. He is also survived by his siblings, Dallas and Dean Keith and nieces and nephews, Dana Pagano, Darren, Jeremy and Jarrod Keith and his beloved companion, Oliver the cat. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Bro. Stephen Hobbs and Bro. Dallas Keith presiding.
