Virginia "Ginny" Lee Smither, age 76, a cherished soul known for her boundless love and warmth, departed this life on December 10, 2025, in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Born on February 8, 1949, in Campbell County, Kentucky,
For nearly fifty years, Ginny was the devoted wife of Wayne Cooper Smither, who predeceased her, creating a partnership characterized by love, laughter, and shared dreams. She navigated life’s journey with grace, even as she mourned the loss of her beloved husband and her siblings, Linda Adkins, Carless McClane, Sammy Wyatt, and Bill Wyatt, along with her caring parents, John William and Winifred Fornash Wyatt. Each loss carved a unique space in her heart, yet she carried their memories as precious treasures throughout her life.
Ginny worked for the Owen County School System in the Primary School for 26 years as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional. She loved working with children and shaping young minds. In her free time, she could often be found reading, doing puzzles, and playing games. Shopping and spending time with family were among her favorite things.
She is survived by her two adoring children, John Wyatt Smither and Nancy Ruth (Curtis) Sutton, whose lives she enriched with her unwavering support and guidance. She delighted in the laughter of her grandchildren, Alexis, Haleigh, and Dawson Sutton, who were the light of her life. Also surviving is her beloved sister Nancy Stevens.
