Tonya Marie Keith, passed away on October 9, 2025, at her residence. Born on October 26, 1972, in Frankfort, Kentucky, Tonya was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Tonya dedicated her professional life to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where she served with distinction until her retirement. Her commitment to her work was evident, and her colleagues admired her steadfastness and dedication.
She is fondly remembered by her family for her exceptional culinary skills. Tonya's Franklin Nut Cake became a beloved Christmas tradition, a recipe she gracefully carried forward from her mother-in-law, Virginia Keith. The warmth of her kitchen will always echo with memories of laughter and the delightful aromas of her cooking.
An avid shopper, Tonya had a particular passion for finding the perfect shoes, purses, and jewelry. She cherished her time spent with family, often captured through her love of photography, with over 4,000 photos on her phone documenting their festivities and everyday life. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking and was in the process of learning to crochet, continually seeking to expand her creative horizons.
Tonya is survived by her husband Darren Keith, daughter Ava Keith, her brother J.C. Woolums, her sisters Vanita Greene, Kelly (Richard) Green, and Lisa Woolums, and her father-in-law Dallas Keith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene Douglas and Joretta Towles Woolums, mother-in-law Virginia Keith and sister-in-law Dana Pagano.
A visitation will be held at New Funeral Homes in Owenton, Kentucky, on October 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with burial taking place in the Owenton Cemetery.
