Tommy G. Prather

Thomas "Tommy" Glen Prather, age 61, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.

Born April 14, 1960, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Justice Prather and Edith Hudnall Prather who survives. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Daryl Prather, Shirley Chadwell, and Brenda Parker. Tommy was a hard working diesel mechanic and farmer who worked for many years for Forsee Southdowns. He enjoyed watching demolition derbies, being Papaw to his grandkids, and spending time with his dog Cujo.

He is survived by his mother, Edith Hudnall Prather; his sons, Adam Prather, Brian (Dawn) Prather, and Steven Davis; his grandchildren, Destiny, Laila, Jackson, Wyatt, Ethan, Max, and Brayden.  A host of extended family also survives.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Pastor, Floyd Race presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to McDonald & New Funeral Homes.
