Thomas Shupert Webster, age 74, of Owenton passed away, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born February 22, 1939, in Gallatin County, he was the son of the late Vernon and Minnie Ellis Webster and was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie Malcomb, William Vernon and Edith Beach. Tom was a member of the Sanders Baptist Church and a retired from the Owen County Road Department as a mechanic. He was also a farmer and worked for many years with Lexington Granite and Nicholasville Monument Company. He enjoyed fishing, mowing and most of all playing cards with his friends each morning at McDonald's. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Woosley Webster; his son, Gregory Webster (wife Candi); his sister, Deetta McCormick of Ghent; his aunt, Pansy Adams of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Heather, Krystal and Gregory; four step grandchildren, Travis, Aaron, J.R. and Tabitha; one great grand daughter, Ariale and several step great grandchildren. Several cousins also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, October 8th from 4 until 7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Bro. Hardin Lowe presiding. A private burial will be Wednesday morning at the Webster Family Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sanders Baptist Church.
