Thelma Lee Spaulding

Thelma Lee Duvall Spaulding, age 91, of Owenton, passed away Friday, April 19. 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 23, 1933, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lula Parker Duvall. She was the widow of Roy Spaulding whom she married in 1955. Together they owned and operated Lakeview Restaurant. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Morris, John P., Melvin and Hugh Duvall, Grace Stonestreet, Adele Bowyer, Sybil Lusby, and Elmo Duvall. Thelma adored her family and being "Mawmaw" to all her grandchildren. She was a devout member of Sparta Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and raising flowers.

Thelma will be deeply missed by her children, Terry (Kathy) Spaulding, Mickey (Sharon) Spaulding, Darlene (Larry) Osborne, and Sabrina (John Colligan) Spaulding; her grandchildren, Kelly (Danny) Clemons, Lorrie (Clinton) Cook, Jeff (Cassie) Osborne, Miranda (David) O'Banion, Ashley (Jason) Moore, Ryan (Melanie) Spaulding, Julie (Brennan) Johnson, Joshua (Sydney) Spaulding, and Jalen Spaulding; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Donna Hill.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Ed Deaton presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice or Sparta Baptist Church
