Thelma Lusby Keith

Thelma G. Lewis Lusby Keith, age 100, of Owenton passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Owenton Center. Born April 21, 1915 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Vergie Bradley Lewis and the widow of John Thomas Lusby and Sam Keith. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Jerry Dean Lusby and John Thomas Lusby, Jr., her daughter, Juanita Lusby McPherron and her siblings, James Lewis and Hazel Beagle. Thelma was a member of the Owenton First Baptist Church and a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 60 years. She was a Certified Nurses Assistant at the Owen County Memorial Hospital for twenty years and also worked at the Owenton Nursing Home Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Corbett of Owenton; her four grandchildren, Tim (Kim) Mason, Sondra (John) Corbett Wood, Billie Jo Corbett Thompson and Kim Corbett. Thelma was also blessed with fifteen great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren; a nephew and three nieces. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, September 3rd from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne and Bro. Brad Banks presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton First Baptist Church or the First Baptist Kitchen Fund.
