Tammy Jean Mitchell

Tammy Jean Mithcell, age 58, of Cadiz, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville.

Born August 19, 1965, in Bourbon County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Donald and Christine Elizabeth Lawrence Mitchell.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Janice Baker and Barbara Ritchie. Tammy was a homemaker and worked as a security guard. She loved being outdoors, watching hummingbirds, and growing beautiful roses.  Tammy loved listening to and singing country music and going fishing. She also enjoyed a good Whitecastle cheeseburger and outings to Longhorn Steakhouse. Most of all she valued being a mother, "Momma-Nana" and "Nana" to her family.

She will be missed by her partner of over 26 years, Gary Wright; her children, Christopher David Allen Hamm and wife Rachelle Page, and Shawn Douglas Hamm and wife Margaret Wilson; her bonus children, Bob Wright and Brandie Whobrey; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kylie, and Lincoln Hamm, Destinee Slayback, Addi and Reagan Wright, and Morgan Whobrey; and her siblings, Jay, Julie, Crystal, and Gary Mitchell, Debbie Welcher, Donna Overly, and Elizabeth Setty.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  A graveside service will be held in the Owenton Cemetery on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 1 pm.  For those wishing to attend please meet at the Main Street at 12:45 pm to go in procession.
