Sylvia Wainscott Beckham

Sylvia Wainscott Beckham, age 92, of Owenton passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.Born March 5, 1925, in Owen County she was the daughter of the late Walter and Birdie Stafford Wainscott.  She was the widow of Dupey "Pete" Beckham and was preceded in death by her daugher, Marlene Holder, her siblings, William Howard, Milford, Elizabeth, Dorothy and Hobart as well as her great-granddaughter Laikyn Dempsey.  Mrs. Beckham was a homemaker and a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.Surviving are her daughter, Robin Dempsey; five grandchildren, Traci Courtney, Troy Holder, Brandon, Jeremy and Derrick Dempsey; thirteen great-grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Billie Jo, Hannah, Trevor, Makenzie, Allison, Austin, Amzie, Abigayle, Porter, Kole and Braelynn.  She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 5 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday with Bro. Steve Delaney and Bro. John Thomas presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church.
