Sue Shelton Sipple

Sue Shelton Sipple, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Bradford Square Nursing Home, Frankfort.

She was born December 13, 1922 in the Beechwood community of Owen County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late George and Ethel Musselman Shelton. Sue was also preceded in death by her husband Earl Doty Sipple; children, Earl Bradley 'Bimbo' Sipple and Patsy Downey; grandchildren, Johnny Gayle Wiser and Gayla Barnes; and her sister Delois Clifton.

Sue loved people and was loved in return. She always made daily calls to the Obituary Line so that she could make sure that she didn't miss honoring  friends and family by attending services during times of loss.  Sue enjoyed taking drives and looking for bargains at yard sales.  Her family enjoyed the many meals she prepared and though she could cook anything some of their favorites were her pecan pie and broccoli salad.  Among her proudest accomplishments was being the oldest member of the Owenton First Baptist Church where she loved attending the Wednesday morning Bible study.

She will be missed by her children, George (Julie) Sipple of Frankfort and Yvonne "Von" (Raymond) Parke of Richmond; daughter in law, Scarlett Sipple; grandchildren, Dawn (Bobby) Brumfield, Cristy (Dawson) Newton, Kerry (Lyndsay) Sipple, Darrin Day, Shelli (Derris) Hedger, Dodie Sipple, Denise (Shannon) McElroy, Jessie (Adam) Kennard, Mary Wells, and Scott (Amy) Parke; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Betty (Jim) Lawrence.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 10 am - 1 pm.  Funeral  services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Brad Banks presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Owenton. Live stream available here .
