Steven Wayne Wagner

Steven Wayne Wagner, age 58, of Owenton passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, surrounded by his family, after a long illness.  He was born on April 13, 1965 in Covington, KY and was met in Heaven by his mother, Billie Margaret Wagner, his nephew Cameron Andrew Wagner, his niece Ashley Elizabeth Wagner, and a whole host of other relatives, friends and pets.

He was survived by his father, Rodney Wagner, his sister, Rhonda Johns, his brothers Greg (Tori) and Mark (Dianne) and his former wife Sarah, his aunt Peggy (John) Davis,  and a host of nieces and nephews.

Steve was a graduate, and the class president, of the 1983 class of Owen County High and he never met a stranger.  His outgoing charm and infectious sense of humor carried him through his daily life.  The friends he made through his love of the outdoors, whether it be camping, hiking, or canoeing, were a big part of some of his best memories.  His happy place was the Red River Gorge, and he visited there as often as possible.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive freinds at the Main Street location on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with burial in the Owenton Cemetery

He would love for the outdoors to be represented in the flowers chosen for his funeral, whether it be wild flowers, sun flowers, cat tails or wild daisies.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Red River Gorge United and Friends of the Smokies
