Shirley Gaines Stamper

Shirley Gaines Stamper, age 68, of Owenton, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Born December 9, 1950, in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Clara Fitzgerald Gaines. Shirley was retired from Owen County Schools where she worked in the cafeteria at the High School. She loved children, flowers and her cats Bob and Brownie.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd Stamper and her cousins, Vernus Taylor, Georgia Locker, Larry & Darlene Dews, Tommy & Ann Dews, Clarence Dews, Jeannie Tingle, Margaret Tingle, and Louise Brown.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday with burial in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McDonald & New Funeral Homes.
