Shirley L. Scott

Mr. Shirley L. Scott, age 87, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.

Born February 1, 1937, in Powell County, KY, he was the son of the late Henry and Lillie Mae Bishop Scott.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Townsend Scott; and his children Tommy Scott and Mary Ann Hall.  Shirley was a mechanic for several years at McDanell Farm Equipment.  He was also a farmer who raised tobacco and hogs and a bulldozer operator.

Surviving are his daughter, Eva Shields; grandchildren Amy Rose, Scotty Hall, and Catrina Reagan; great-granddaughters, Morgan Ann Dailey and Zoey Belle Dailey; and his nephew Billy Scott.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Scott Family Farm, 445 Garnett Lane, Owenton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
