Sherri Jane Young

Sherri Jane Perkins Young, 60, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her home. Born March 7, 1961, she was the daughter of Alice Thornton Perkins and the late Oscar Perkins, Jr. She graduated from Owen County High School in 1979 and later obtained her nursing license. Sherri worked in a variety of settings throughout her nursing career of more than 40 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister who loved nature and studying genealogy.

Sherri was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Perkins, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Alice Thornton Perkins; two sons, Ryan (Stacey) Young and Joseph (Candace) Young; six grandchildren, Alex, Ethan, Audree, Levi, Bentley, and Shelby Young; two brothers, Dan (Connie) Perkins and Jim (Angie) Perkins; two sisters, Teresa and Lisa Perkins; three nieces, Hannah (Darrell) Hearn, Jamie (JT) Olds, Becky (Byron) Mefford, all of Owenton; and one nephew, Caleb Perkins of Frankfort. She is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday January 31 beginning at 11AM at the Seminary Street Location with the funeral following at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home for expenses or the American Cancer Society. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
