Shaun Wilhoite

January 6, 1982 — February 13, 2010

Shaun Wilhoite, 28, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, February 13th from injuries sustained in a hiking accident in the Red River Gorge in Menifee County. Born January 6, 1982, in the Covington, he was a lineman for Owen Electric and a member of the Mussel Shoals Baptist Church. Shaun was also a musician and a farmer and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as fishing canoeing and hiking. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Glenn and Wanda Works. He is survived by his wife, Taylor Blair Howard Wilhoite; his son Sawyer Davis Wilhoite; his parents, James “David” and Connie Toler Wilhoite all of Owenton; his sisters, Jessica and Sarah Jane Wilhoite of Owenton and Kasta Bartlett of Lexington; his maternal grandmother, Laura Polson of Jacksboro, TN; his mother in law, Donna June True; father in law, Todd Howard both of Owenton and a host of extended family and friends. Pallbearers will be Lucas McNally, Derrick and Jared Epperson, Drew Howard, Wes Petzinger, Keith Clifton, Dan Hardin, James Juett, Chris Hughes, Jon Lamont and BJ Toler. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Epperson, Steve Petzinger, Timmy House and Delbert Hymer. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Thursday, February 18th, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday at the First Christian Church Owenton, with Bro. Craig Howard officiating. Burial will be On Shaun’s family farm in Lusby’s Mill. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choosing.
