Sarah Mae Handy

Sarah Mae Handy, age 98, died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Owenton Center.Born May 1, 1919, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William and Pearl Briley Duncan.  Mrs. Handy was the widow of James Handy, a homemaker and a member of the Long Ridge Baptist Church.  She is survived by her sons, James (Beata) Handy and Jerry (Brenda) Handy; five grandchildren, Steve, Tammy, Jerry, Bobby and Joshua Handy; eleven great grandchildren, Brandon, Laura, Ashley(John), Tabitha (Bryan), Drew, Anna, Tyler, Cale, Abram, Emersyn and Sarah.  Three great-great grandchildren also survive, Hayden, Aubrey and Levi.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton Center Activities Fund.
