Samuel Robert Raider, III

Samuel Robert Raider III, 64, passed away at his residence in Monterey on June 4, 2026. 

Bo was born in Versailles, KY, the son of the late Samuel Jr. and Glessie Disponette Raider. He was a farmer and logger and attended Harmony Baptist Church. He was known for being a hard worker and enjoyed being a jokester. He liked being outdoors and all the things nature had to offer. Woodworking was one of his favorite things and went along with his logging work. He dearly loved his family and will be missed by his wife Mary Gilbert Raider whom he married on June 4 1989, along with his daughters, Jessica (Matthew) McNamee,  Georgia Raider (Lee Sebastian), and Bobbie Lynn Santry, grandchildren, Eden Sebastian, Kolden McNamee, Hailey Brock, Paige Brock and Hannah Santry, cousin Chuck (Holly) Thompson and Henry (Kinzi) Thompson, aunts Ann (Charlie) Thompson and Natalie Hopkins. His mother-in-law, Elizabeth Gilbert, two brothers-in-law, James (Joy) Gilbert and Ben (Lisa) Gilbert, and two sisters-in-law, Rita Gilbert and Brenda (Tim) Smith, also survive. His dog Pete will miss him as well.

A graveside service will be held at the Monterey Cemetery on Tuesday at 1 PM. Memorials may be made to the Harmony Baptist Church.
