Samanthia Lynn Delaney, age 55, went home to be with the Lord and her daddy on February 14, 2026. She was known for her lifelong dedication to nurturing others, working as a teacher/coach, EMT, leader, and caregiver of many sorts throughout her life.
Sammie was born February 2, 1971, in Lexington, KY. She took great pride in being born two years, two months, and two days after her sister. Samanthia had a heart filled with love for people. A proud graduate of Owen County High School, class of 1989. She continued to embrace her community. She was known for her welcoming nature and caring for others deeply. She was a phenomenal mother and was especially proud of her role as a grandmother, affectionately known as MeMe, to her beloved grandchildren.
She had a passion for all music, enjoying gospel tunes and a variety of genres. Sam loved to dance and sing/ karaoke, sharing joyous moments with her friends and family.
She leaves behind her mother, Doris Jean Hall Delaney; sister, Angela (Chris) Burch; Sam’s children, Logan Bitler and Abigail Bitler, as well as their father, Mark Bitler; alongside her grandchildren, Benjamin, Lilly, and Jackson; numerous friends and extended family, who were loved by her as well. Samantha will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering spirit of unconditional love and acceptance for those around her.
A celebration of life will be held on February 28th at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 11-1. Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier will officiate. Memorial contributions in Sammie's memory may be made to New Funeral Homes for expenses and support of her family.
