Ruby Dean Frazier, age 93, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.
Born September 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Aura Peak Gibson Howard. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Frazier; and her siblings, J.T. Howard, William "Buster" Howard, Charles Howard, Mary Jane Howard, and Eunice Gaines. Ruby was a member of the Squiresville Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for many years. She retired from the Owen County Public Library and will long be remembered for her work enriching the lives of others by operating the Bookmobile across the county. She was of course an avid reader herself, but also enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be missed by her daughter, Patsy (Jackie) Lynn; her grandchildren, Russell Lynn, Tanya Lynn, Laura Sharp, and Kristy Durham; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, James Howard, Beebe Howard, Delbert Howard, Lucille Howard, Dorothy Smith, and Betty Simpson.
New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 11 am until 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Craig Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to either the Owen County Public Library or Squiresville Baptist Church.
