Ruby Mae Ellis

Ruby Mae Ellis, 62, of Owenton, passed away Monday, June 7th at her residence. Born August 16, 1947, in Owenton, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Minerva Wainscott and was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert Jr. and John Wainscott and her sisters Florence Popp and Ann Wainscott. Ruby was a hairdresser for over 40 years and a member of the Owenton First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Donald Ray Ellis; two daughters, Mary Beth (Dewayne) Townsend of Owenton and Amy (Andrew) Wolfe of Dayton; four sisters, Mary Keefe of Louisville, Emma McFarland of Bowling Green; Alma (J.V.) Perkins of Owenton, Alice (Mike) Staser of Lexington, IN. Four grandchildren, Brittany & Christopher Townsend and Kyra and Rayven Wolfe also survive. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Wednesday, June 9th, from 11-1pm. Funeral services will be follow at 1pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
