Roy Martin

Roy Martin, 72, passed away Sunday, November 18th. He was born January 14, 1940 in Owen County the son of the late Frank and Bethel Yarber Martin. He was also preceded by three brothers; Douglas, Mike and Otis Martin. Roy was a truck driver and a member of the Stonewall First Church of God and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Jenkins Martin, a daughter, Lisa and her husband Darrell Ison of Stamping Ground, two sisters, Mary Lou Branstetter and Emma Courtney. Two grandchildren, Josh and Jordon also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, November 23, from 5 pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24 beginning at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of the Bluegrass.
