Roy Stanley Hicks, 84, passed away Saturday Oct. 20, 2012 at his home. He was a former heavy equipment operator and railroad conductor. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was Past Grand Master of the Tadmor Lodge and was a member of the Scottish Rite KCCH. He was born in Owen County the son of the late John Wesley and Viona Hughes Hicks. He was also preceded by his first wife Lula Mae, two daughters Paula Hicks and Pamela Riley, three brothers, Howard, Lester and Chester Hicks, a granddaughter Shannon Heilfrich and a step son Larry Bowling. Surviving are his wife: Shirley McBee Hicks; two sons, Roy Earnest Hicks and James Ray Hearn, a daughter, Belinda Kathy Beach, three brothers, Glendell, Floyd Eugene and Harry David Hicks. Eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive. Visitation is Monday Oct. 22 from 5 to 8pm and funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11am at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
