Roy Burnett

Roy Burnett, 79, of Owenton, passed away Saturday March 27, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born October 22, 2010, in Grahns, KY, he was the son of the late Roy and Loretta Lavell Burnett and was preceded in death by his son John Burnett. Roy was a carpenter and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife Patty Crouch Burnett; four sons, Dan (Cassandra) Burnett of Delaware, OH, Nick (Joan) Burnett of Marengo, OH, Roy Burnett, Jr. of Nicholasville and Royce Burnett of Lexington; three daughters, Gloria (Bobby) Caldwell of Delaware, OH, Loretta (Calvin) McAlpine of Hinton, WV and Patricia (John) McKinney of Georgetown; seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, March 31st from 10am – 1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Visitation will also be held Thursday from 10am – 1pm at Soul’s Harbor Church, 126 Nursing Home Rd, Piketon, OH. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with burial in the Thompson Family Cemetery with Bro. Paul Coy presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in care of the Burnett family.
