Rosemary Hawkins Gaines

Rosemary Gaines, age 89, of Owenton passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Owenton Center.

Born April 8, 1930, on Cull Road, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Daisy Lusby Hawkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, on Christmas Day 2011, William Thomas Gaines. At the time of his passing, they had been married for over 63 years. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Travis Dale Hunter.  Rosemary was a homemaker and a member of the Southfork Baptist Church. She was known as "Grammie" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosemary enjoyed crocheting, sewing and loved shopping.

She is survived by her children, Darlene (Gary) Hunter, Gina (Mike) Walker and Mitchell (Renaee) Gaines; her grandchildren, Tammy (Kevin) Smith, Chad (Jennifer) Walker, Callie Dawn Walker, Cheyene Mae Gaines and Blake Thomas Gaines; her great grandchildren, Kayla Darlene (Josh) Raines, Corby Paul Hunter Smith, Emma Helene and Avery Michaela Walker. Rosemary was excited to expand her family this year, with great grandchilren Raylan & Claira and their dad Zach in May, along with great granddaughter, Miley Grace who is expected in June.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from  4 - 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday with Bro. Roger Alford presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Southfork Baptist Church.
