Roberta Robards Stamper

Roberta Robards Stamper, 77 and a resident of the Gratz community, passed away Tuesday, September 23rd, in Lexington. Born in 1930, she was the daughter of the late Hilary Cegale Goodlett and Ruby Nichols Goodlett. Roberta was a former Telephone Operator for A T & T and worked most recently as office manager for Owenton Express. She was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death also by two brothers, Jimmy and Bruce Goodlett. Roberta is survived by her husband, Joe Stamper, whom she married in May of 1955; two sons: Rickie Stamper (Debbie)of Frankfort, and David Stamper (Donna) of Nicholasville, one daughter; Becky Meehan (Carl) of Frankfort, two sisters: Lucille Morris of Harrodsburg and Aileen Clark of Louisville. Seven grandchildren, Nickie, Donnie, Stephanie, Jameson, Michael, Megan and Sarah; and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Colter also survive. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25th, from 4pm until 8pm, at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, September 26th, at the Funeral Home. Bro. Dale Adkins and Bro. Wayne Kelly will be officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Horizons Medical Foundation or the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
