Robert Thompson Elmore, Jr.

Robert Thompson Elmore Jr., age 83 and a resident of the Sparta area, passed away Sunday, January 25th, at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati. Born April 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Robert Thompson Elmore Sr. and Mary Virginia Baker Elmore. Robert was a petroleum geologist for the Shell Oil Company and was a member of the University Baptist Church in Coral Gables; FL. He was also a Veteran having served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Lafferty Elmore and one sister, Mary Sue Kalen of Indianapolis, IN. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, February 2nd, from 11am -12 pm. Graveside Services will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, Ky. Services will begin at 1pm.
