Robert "Bobby" Walker O'Banion

Robert "Bobby" Walker O'Banion, age 80, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Born December 29, 1934, in the Greenup community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Harry Foster and Wilma Pauline Dickerson O'Banion and was preceded in death by his brother, Billy O'Banion. Bobby was a lifelong tobacco and beff cattle farmer and a member of the Gratz Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Iona Heightchew O'Banion; his son, Todd Douglas O'Banion; his sister, Emma Burd and several nieces and nephews. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, March 28th from 10am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Rex Gibson presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gratz Baptist Church.
