Rick Morgan

Rick Allen Morgan, 61 of Owenton passed away on Wednesday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born August 30, 1952, Rick was the son of the late June and Ethel Carlton Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann Riddle and his nephew, Eddie Chaney. Rick was retired from the Commonwealth of KY in the Transportation Cabinet. He was an E.M.T. with the Owen County Ambulance service, the Emergency Management Director and was the Owen County Asst. Fire Chief. Rick was also the 2013 Owen Countian of the Year. He is survived by his two sons, Jermiah (Ann) Morgan and Danny James “D.J.” (Melinda) Harris both of Owenton; five grandchildren, Austen, Blair, Timmy, Katelynn and Colton. Also surviving are his nephew, Robbie Chaney, his niece, Lisa Adami, a great nephew, Kevin Ingram and a great niece, Zoe Chaney. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, August 22th from 5-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23th at 2pm. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Owen County Fire Department.
