Rebekah "Beka" Gaines

Rebekah Blayne Allyn Gaines, better known as “Beka”, passed away at her home on Sunday October 16, 2011 at he age of 17. She was born in Lexington the daughter of Terry and Melissa Smoot Gaines. Beka was a senior at Owen County High School where she was a cheerleader, member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, F.C.A. and the Student Council. In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister, Kathryn and her husband Matt Tate, two Uncles, Greg Smoot and wife Laura and Rodney Gaines and wife Judy, her grandmother, Iva Gaines and her great grandfather, Marvin Keith. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday October 19 at the old Bowling Middle School with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Officiating will be Greg Guy and Brian Blair. Memorial contributions may be made to Beka’s Toppers. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery.
