Rastus Mcdonald

Vernon Eugene 'Rastus' McDonald, age 79, of Owenton, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at his home.

Born November 11, 1942, in Monterey, KY, he was the son of the late Vernon McDonald and Christine Luther McDonald. Rastus was dedicated to caring for and spending time with his wife Audrey. He enjoyed fishing and socializing at Monterey Market. Rastus worked for Liters Quarry and Harrod & Carter Quarry as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine, a grandson Aaron Puckett, his brothers Charles and Tom McDonald, and sister Brenda Brown.

He is survived by his wife Audrey Raisor McDonald, his children; Don (Jacqualine) McDonald, Charles (Cindy) McDonald, grandchildren; Brooke Yager, Brittany Moran, Brian Scott McDonald, Ashley Christine McDonald, Wesley Ty McDonald, Angie Brophy, Steven, and Shawn Hemingway his eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandsons, two step-daughters, Jennifer (Ron) Dickow and Lisa Hearn as well as a host of extended family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held at our Seminary Street location Monday, January 10, 2022, from 11 AM to 2 PM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 2 PM with Bro. Kenny French presiding.
