Ransom Jual “Randy” Brumback Jr., 62, of Owen County, died Friday, March 29, 2013, in the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, Ky. Born Dec. 6, 1950, in Cincinnati, he was the son of Patricia Ann Perkins Brumback-Twedt and the late Ransom Jual Brumback. Randy attended Owen County schools and Union College. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he served as a rural letter carrier for many years. He was an excellent woodworker, golfer, and guitarist, and enjoyed his life on the family farm he cherished. A loving son, brother, uncle and friend, he is survived by his mother and step-father Dr. Robert M. Twedt; sisters Julie (Curtis) Kirk, Faith (Marc) Clifton, Merry Lisa “Nokie” Brumback; brother John Hugh (Valerie) Brumback; nephews Willie Clifton, Jeremy (Sarah) Smither, Keith Clifton, Kelly Toole, Matt Toole, and Patrick Brumback; niece Abi (Matthew) Elrod; grand-niece Lauren Smither and grand-nephew Caleb Elrod; step-brothers Ed Counts and Darryl (Deanna) Counts; and lifelong friend L.C. Lusby. He was preceded in death by his father and sister Rebecca Susan Brumback. Randy was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at his home in Long Ridge.
