Ralph Poe

Ralph Poe, age 91 and a resident of Owenton, passed away Wednesday morning, February 25th, at the Owenton Manor. Born March 17, 1917, he was the son of the late Charlie and Mary Jane O’Banion Poe. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Alton, Alva, Thurston and Willie Poe; and two sisters: Octavia Acree and Sylvia Fortner. Ralph was a Veteran having served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was also a faithful member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Norma Howard Poe. He is also survived by a daughter, Kathy Mings (husband Tom) of New Castle, Ky; one sister: Carlene Shryock of Owenton; and three grandchildren: Matt, Kelsey, and Carson Mings all of New Castle. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, February 27th, from 4-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Saturday at the funeral home with Bro. David Wotier officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
