Rachel Perkins

Mrs. Rachel Wright Perkins, age 83, of Lexington and formerly of Owenton passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Saint Joseph Hospital. Born December 7, 1929, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Eliza Jane Cook Wright. Also preceding her in death were her son, Billy Ray Parker and her siblings, Ralph, Clarence, Marvin, Bobby and Margie Wright and Mae Parker. Mrs. Perkins was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Willard Ray Perkins; her daughter, Sue (Gene Ray) Stivers of Owenton; three sons, Lee (Doris) Parker of Corinth, David (Sherry) Doss of Lawrenceburg and Bobby Parker of Frankfort; one sister, Annie Cook; ten grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive. McDonald and New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday with Bro. Matt Dye presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
