Phyllis Ann Eldridge White, age 83, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023, at her home.
Born December 23, 1939, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Williard and Arlene Rose Juett and was preceded in death by her son, David Simpson, her sister, Gloria Fincham, and her grandson, Remington White. Phyllis was retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She was a bus driver for several years and also a part-time beautician for most of her working life. Phyllis was an accomplished pianist and played for many years for Old Cedar Baptist Church where she was a member, as well as Poplar Grove Baptist Church and Lockport Baptist Church. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed feeding and caring for others. She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her yard.
She will be missed by her husband of nearly 17 years, Charles White; her son, Phillip Simpson; her step-children, David White and Mattie Eldridge; her grandchildren, Cassidy Eldridge, Wyatt, Brantlee, and Oak-Lynn White, Amber, and Lauren Gaddis; her great-grandchildren, Kensi and Tucker Bays; and her siblings, Joy Wilhite, Marietta Allen, and Myra Sutton.
New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation at the Main Street location on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Tom Hall presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery and memorial contributions are encouraged to New Funeral Homes for expenses.
