Philip Edward Cook, born on June 8, 1956, in Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away tragically on August 22, 2025, in Liberty, Kentucky, due to injuries sustained in an accident.
Phil was a proud graduate of Owen County High School and dedicated a significant part of his life to his career at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where he worked diligently in Maintenance before retiring.
An outdoorsman at heart, Phil enjoyed hunting and fishing, cherishing the moments spent in nature. He was a people person, always delighting in the company of his family and friends. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he loved attending their sporting events, cheering them on with unwavering support. Philip was also a valued member of the Monterey Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, Shannon Cook and J.P. Cook (Kristina), along with his cherished grandchildren, Savanah Anderson, Wade Cook, Brennan, and Memphis Cook. Philip is also survived by his sister, Darlene Wainscott (Mike). He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Edward and Barbara Griffin Cook.
A visitation honoring Phil's life will be held on August 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Funeral Homes, located at 202 N. Main Street, Owenton, KY 40359. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 7:00 PM at the same location.
