Phil S. Sanders

Phil S. Sanders, age 72, of Owenton, passed away on January 27, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

He was born February 18, 1949, in Owen County, to the union of Howard and Corrine Smith Sanders, one of ten children. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles (Geraldine) Sanders, Vernon Sanders, Alice Sanders, and his son, Rodollo Cleofas. Phil was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church Owenton and was a CNA at the Owenton Manor for over 27 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Rosalind Hocog Sanders; his daughter, Rhodora (Ronnie) Dennis; his daughter in law, Donna Cleofas; his grandchildren, Mekayla, Maycie, Harold, J.J. Fernandez, Allie, Yanyan, and Third Jr.; siblings, Joe (Christine) Sanders, Barbara Gayle, Betsy (Rev. Chris) Hagan, Johnny (Darlene) Sanders, Zola Sanders, Dwight (Teresa) Sanders; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside memorial service will be held in the Spring.
