Peggy Kemper Thomas, 93, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born September 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Loula Bourne Kemper and widow of John Thomas, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jack Thomas, and her siblings, R.F. Kemper, Harold Kemper, Alyce "Ikie" Kemper, Lillian "Curtie" Martin, and James "Buddy" Kemper.
Peggy had a wide range of passions that brought her immense joy. She cared for many family members during her life and instilled that selfless spirit in her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing, where she found peace and serenity by the water. Whether casting her line in a quiet lake or enjoying the thrill of a catch, fishing was one of her favorite pastimes. She reveled in always catching the most fish and enjoyed the competition with her sons. Her talent for quilting was another passion that she poured her heart into. She created beautiful, intricate quilts, each one a labor of love and a reflection of her patience and creativity. The quilts she made are treasured keepsakes, and each stitch carries a memory of her caring spirit. Peggy was known for her competitive spirit at the card table. She spent countless hours playing cards with family and friends, bringing people together with her infectious laughter and sense of fun. Whether she was winning or losing, it was the joy of the game and the company that mattered most to her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of the time spent with her, whether it was enjoying a peaceful day by the water, piecing together a quilt, or sharing a card game around the table. Her warmth, generosity, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Peggy is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, John and Vickie Thomas, granddaughters Wendy Tucker and Kelley Thomas, great-grandchildren McKenna Tucker, Kolby Tucker, and Navaya Acuff, two very special "bonus" great-grandchildren, Seth Tucker and Blaine Bullock, and Man's Best Friend, Mikey.
