Peggy Lou Perkins

Peggy Lou Perkins, age 81, of Owenton, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice.

Born September 28, 1943, in Owenton, KY, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Stella Lusby Gordy.  She was the widow of Marvin R. Perkins and was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

A woman of faith, Peggy attended Beech Grove Baptist Church, where she found comfort and community. She had a deep love for gardening, spending countless hours nurturing her flowers and making her surroundings bloom with beauty.

Peggy also worked as a caregiver, sharing her kindness and compassion with those who needed it most. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to the music of Conway Twitty, whose songs filled her home with joy. However, her greatest joy in life was being "Mamaw" to her grandchildren. She never missed a chance to cheer them on at their school and sporting events.

Peggy will be missed by her children, Patty (Jody) Prather, Ricky (Heather) Wilhoite, Michelle (Michael) Reese, and Mikel (Tammy) Perkins; grandchildren, Hadley Wilhoite, Holden Bridges, Stone and Patrick Osborne, Heather Osborne, and Austin Hudnall and an honorary granddaughter she babysat, Leslie Wilson; her great-grandaughter who she lovingly called 'Mae-Mae', Ellie Osborne and great-grandson, Emmerson "Beck" Osborne; her sister Bonnie Sullivan; as well as a host of extended family.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Craig Howard presiding. Burial will be in the New Columbus Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
