Paul D. Smith

Paul D. Smith, 82, passed away Saturday January 11, 2020.

He was born in Lexington, KY the son of the late Nelson "Bud" and Mae Burton Smith. He was also preceded by his wife Imogene Rogers Smith; two children, Jeanette Hicks and Adam Smith; his grandchildren, Chelsea Catherine Smith, Samantha Gaston and Zachary Asher and eight siblings, Nelson, Asbury, Harvey, Steve, Roger and Larry Smith, Opal Hall and Bonnie Keith. He was a lifelong farmer having raised tobacco and cattle and in his younger days was also a brick mason and carpenter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his seven sons, David, Paul, Jerry, John, Joe, Marcus and Bud Smith and his daughter, Connie Asher; twenty grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday January 17 from 11 til 2 at McDonald & New - Main St. The funeral will begin at 2PM and burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery.
