Paul Suter Craigmyle

March 8, 1942 — January 5, 2022

Paul Suter Craigmyle, born March 8, 1942 passed away January 5, 2022 at the Radcliff Veterans Center in Radcliff, Kentucky due to declining long-term illnesses. After graduating from Owen County High School in 1960, he enlisted to serve his country. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving three years of active duty and two years in the army reserves. His passion for cars and trucks led him to work in the motor pool and he was eventually promoted to motor pool sergeant. Upon finishing his term in the service, he went on to complete trade school training for front-end alignment, frame work, and other automotive repairs.

In 1972, Paul started the Craigmyle Farm Implement business in Owen County, becoming the youngest ever New Holland Dealer in North America. The entrepreneur grew the business over 10 years alongside his wife, Barbara, who served as the business’s administrator. After selling the business, he once again started another successful venture with Owen Country Frame & Alignment, utilizing his skills learned years earlier. For 30 years he served Owen and surrounding counties as a small business owner and community contributor to organizations such as the Jaycees, where he served as President.

Paul’s greatest joy was his family, faith, and ministry through music. He became an ordained minister in 1980. He sang in a southern gospel trio with his two daughters, Melody Craigmyle Taylor and Venessa Craigmyle Duke, in churches and venues throughout the tri-state area. He was instrumental in forming churches in Owen, Carroll, and Trimble counties.

After retirement, Paul began truck restorations as a hobby, focusing on 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne short bed pickup trucks. In all, he completed 8 full restorations, many of which were nationally recognized on the covers of several truck trading magazines.

Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Griffin Craigmyle, daughters Stephanie Craigmyle, Melody Craigmyle Taylor (Samuel), grandson Branden Suter Duke (Leighanne); 1-year-old twin great-granddaughters Molly Michelle Duke and Lola Venessa Duke, granddaughter Laura Duke, sisters Betty Sue Lusby and Ollie Dean Butcher, and brother F.D Craigmyle. He was preceded in death by his parents John Suter Craigmyle and Ethel E. Craigmyle, sister Elizabeth Ann Wilson, brother John Samford Craigmyle, daughter Venessa Craigmyle Duke, and son-in-law Richard Henry Duke.
